We are thrilled to partner with them as we look to bring a Manager or Senior Manager of Finance & Portfolio Operations to their team in Bedford!


Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, this role is a key member of the CFFI team and is responsible for financial reporting and treasury deliverables for CFFI. This position also plays a key role in interacting with, understanding and analyzing CFFI’s portfolio companies and their performance, to drive value creation. There is an opportunity for the successful candidate to grow within the company’s finance team as they progress and contribute in this role.


Responsibilities will include:
 
  • Perform in-depth review of portfolio company reporting, summarize key takeaways and perform analysis for Chief Financial Officer and President, with a focus on improvement and value creation.
  • Gain a robust understanding of portfolio company businesses and serve as a key contact with portfolio company finance teams, providing assistance and support to the companies, as needed.
  • Review quarterly financial statements, monthly internal and portfolio reporting for use by CFFI’s senior management, board of directors and lenders.
  • Analyze complex transactions and perform research under ASPE application of relevant accounting standards and documentation of such analysis, with oversight provided by the Senior Director of Finance.
  • Review annual budget and cash flow reporting.
  • Assistance with accounting system conversion including contribution to design and setup of reporting, and involvement in user acceptance testing and ongoing system oversight and administration. 
  • Special projects within the finance function as required.

The ideal candidate will possess:
 
  • CPA designation. 
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in full cycle accounting, working in an accounting firm or for a private equity firm/family office, or a combination thereof. 
  • Proactive and self-motivated approach with a strong work ethic and high degree of ownership 
  • Naturally curious and business-oriented mindset
  • Experience working in a multi-entity environment (private equity, active holding company, family office, or professional services firm)
  • A strong background in financial reporting and analysis, including drafting financial statements and related note disclosures
  • Strong technical accounting ability, including knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises 
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, including experience managing small teams for successful and timely completion of deliverables
  • Superior Microsoft Excel skillset
  • Exceptional written and oral communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience working with accounting software, in particular NetSuite, would be considered an asset.
  • Sound analytical thinking (even amongst ambiguity), planning, prioritization, and execution skills
