Championing the PAL Aerospace Human Resources (HR) team, we are looking for a HR Manager to join the team in St. John’s, NL. This is a fixed term full-time position expected to last approximately 16 months.
With the PAL Aerospace team, you will work alongside a tight-knit group and incredibly talented engineers, technicians, operators, pilots, and ambitious clients to make the world a safer and more sustainable place.
As the Human Resources Manager at PAL Aerospace, you will be a strategic business partner for PAL Aerospace divisional leaders on guidance and support for all HR functions including workforce planning and talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. The HR Manager leads the delivery of Human Resources services to a diverse portfolio of business units including Technical Services, Supply Chain, Engineering, Software Development, Programs, and Operations.
Reporting directly to the SVP of Human Resources, the HR Manager leads a team of HR Business Partners and works alongside the HR management team and the Talent Acquisition team, to support the delivery and facilitation of HR programs and services to PAL Aerospace business units.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Organizational Development
- Work closely with management to align people strategy initiatives with PAL’s strategic business objectives.
- Partner with management on organizational planning and workforce strategy to meet current and future talent needs.
- Facilitate organizational change through planning, advising, and executing strategies to support business growth.
- Drive continuous improvement in team effectiveness, accountability, and collaboration.
- Lead HR operations to support a portfolio of diverse client groups across multiple Canadian sites and international bases.
- Oversee and facilitate the application of HR policies, programs, and procedures.
- Ensure HR compliance with applicable labour laws and remain current on employment law practices and trends.
- Prepare and submit analytics and reports as required.
- Provide leadership and coaching to managers on employee relations, performance management, career pathing, and succession planning.
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers on effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Collaborate with management to continuously improve employee engagement and retention.
- Lead and mentor HR team members through consistent coaching, guidance, and support.
- Foster a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to develop creative initiatives to attract top talent in competitive labour markets
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or CPHR designation is considered an asset.
- Proven experience as an HR leader with a track record of building relationships and advancing HR initiatives across diverse employee groups.
- Experience managing a team is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.
- Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage stakeholders at all levels.
