Compensation Range $75,000- $105,000

Our client, Barry Bryan Associates – a multi-disciplined architectural and engineering firm with over 25 years of experience delivering quality design services across Ontario and beyond – is seeking a Building Science Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will contribute to a wide variety of building envelope projects in the industrial, institutional, recreational, and municipal sectors.
Working in collaboration with Partners, Architects, and fellow Engineers, you will take an active role in the investigation, assessment, design, and restoration of building envelopes and performance systems, ensuring both technical accuracy and client satisfaction.

Requirements:
  • Must be a graduate of a 4-year university engineering program (preferably in Civil, or Mechanical).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in building science or envelope design and consulting.
  • P.Eng Designation (or eligibility for registration in Ontario).
  • Knowledge of current building codes, construction methods, materials science, and energy efficiency standards.
  • Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills in English.
  • Familiarity with building envelope investigation tools and performance testing (e.g., thermography, air leakage testing) is an asset.
Responsibilities:
  • Conducting building envelope investigations, condition assessments, and performance reviews.
  • Designing and detailing envelope systems for new construction, renovations, and restoration projects.
  • Preparing technical reports, specifications, and drawing packages.
  • Providing support during construction including site reviews and addressing technical issues.
  • Collaborating with internal design teams to ensure envelope integration with architectural and structural elements.
  • Advising clients on energy efficiency, durability, and sustainability considerations.
  • Overseeing the work of junior staff and coordinating with external consultants where needed.
  • Maintaining a client-focused, solutions-oriented approach to engineering challenges.
