We are excited to be partnered with them in the search for a Treasury Manager to join their head office in Bedford, NS. The Treasury Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining Clearwater’s enterprise financial model, managing foreign currency risks, supporting the global insurance program, cash and debt management and forecasting. This role requires advanced excel skills, a strong understanding of financial statements, an understanding of hedging and financial risk management and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain complex financial models and forecasts for the organization for budgeting, forecasting, business cases and strategic planning.
- Monitor and manage foreign exchange risks including: Monitor global FX exposures and identify risks; Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast and quantify currency exposure; Assist in the development and execution of FX hedging strategies to mitigate current risk; Evaluate effectiveness of hedging programs and support hedge accounting requirements; Prepare reports on FX, hedging and market insights for senior leadership
- Support global insurance program including: Support the annual insurance renewal process including oversight of applications and financial data; Coordinate the timely and effective reporting, handling, and settlement of insurance claims; Maintain accurate records of insurance policies, certificates, premiums and claims
- Cash management and liquidity planning: Review and develop weekly, monthly and quarterly cash flow forecasts; Analyze cash flow predictions to improve forecasts
- Oversee bank account structures: Lead changes to improvements in banking structure, including improvements to internal controls; Lead the implementation of and optimization of treasury processes
- Support debt management activities including: Covenant compliance and reporting; Review of interest reasonability and long-term debt reconciliations
- Collaborate across other departments and support internal business partners on treasury related matters.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures. Support all audit procedures.
- Support treasury projects including organizational simplifications, acquisitions, mergers, and refinancing activities.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration, or a related field. A CPA or equivalent designation is preferred.
- 5+ years’ professional work experience, relevant Treasury experience is an asset.
- An understanding of IFRS, including financial instruments and foreign exchange is preferred.
- Strong understanding of cash management and liquidity planning is an asset.
- Familiar with hedging strategies and financial risk management.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- SAP user knowledge is an asset.
