Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with our client to recruit an Outreach & Recruitment Manager to join their team in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Role Description
The Outreach & Recruitment Manager will be responsible for leading strategic recruitment initiatives to attract top talent, while simultaneously fostering inclusive hiring practices across the Nova Scotia portfolio. In addition to leading the end-to-end recruitment process, this role will focus on building and maintaining partnerships and relationships to support both the social causes of the organization as well as the hiring of diverse groups.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Manage the full-cycle, end-to-end recruitment process for a wide range of positions within the organization, including targeted recruitment efforts for various designated groups to meet our client’s social mandate;
  • Provide oversight and management to the recruitment team, assigning tasks and ensuring all districts are covered from a recruitment perspective;
  • Analyze databases and metrics to understand recruitment effectiveness, and make adjustments to recruitment strategy as needed;
  • Coordinate with the internal Training department during onboarding to ensure new employees receive the proper training that is required before entering the field;
  • Provide weekly performance reporting to the Human Resources department, as well as other key stakeholders as required;
  • Identify, initiate, and maintain strategic partnerships/relationships with community organizations, educational institutions, associations, and government agencies;
  • Serve as an Ambassador for the organization by being visible at various public events, developing important external connections with key individuals and key organizations;
  • Develop outreach programs and initiatives that promote the overall brand and social mandate of the organization;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align partnership efforts with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals;
  • Track and report on partnership outcomes, including candidate referrals, engagement metrics, and impact assessments.
Your Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate, you are a motivated HR professional with a passion for Talent Acquisition/Recruitment. You are confident, approachable, outgoing, and would be excited about the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with key stakeholders and community partners. Most importantly, you are committed to providing a positive candidate experience.

Qualifications include:
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration/Commerce, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience);
  • CPHR designation would be considered a strong asset;
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources/Talent Acquisition, with preference given to those that have held a managerial role;
  • Superior attention to detail and demonstrated professionalism in delivering high-quality customer service;
  • Demonstrated success in building partnerships and community engagement;
  • Experience sourcing top talent using various recruitment channels, including social media, resume mining, referral programs, networking, and more;
  • Strong understanding of DEI principles;
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality;
  • Strong MS Office and computer aptitude skills are required, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access;
  • Experience working with BambooHR and a CRM system would be considered an asset;
  • Understanding of Collective Agreements, NS Labour Standards Code, Canada Labour Code, and other related legislation would be considered an asset.
