On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join their team of dedicated professionals in Bedford, Nova Scotia. 

Reporting to the VP, Finance, the FP&A Analyst is responsible for providing financial insights and support that drive strategic and operational decision-making across the organization. This role leads the development and maintenance of budgets, forecasts, financial models, and performance analyses, ensuring leadership has accurate and timely information to guide business planning. The position works closely with cross-functional teams to analyze financial and operational drivers, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend actions that support both short-term objectives and long-term growth. The FP&A Analyst also plays a key role in preparing executive-level reporting, dashboards, and KPIs, as well as contributing to strategic projects such as mergers and acquisitions, capital investment evaluations, and cost optimization initiatives.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans. 
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models to evaluate business performance, investments, and strategic initiatives. 
  • Provide monthly and quarterly variance analysis, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities. 
  • Partner with business units to understand drivers of revenue, expenses, and profitability. 
  • Prepare dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting to support executive decision making. 
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis to evaluate potential outcomes and risks. 
  • Support strategic projects including M&A analysis, capital investment evaluation, and cost optimization initiatives. 
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data, working closely with accounting and operations teams. 

Qualifications: 

As the ideal candidate, you are a driven finance professional possessing 3–5 years of progressive finance experience, ideally in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles. Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills will be key to success in this role, along with proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial systems is essential. Experience with ERP tools such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle will be considered an asset. With exceptional written and verbal communication skills, you possess strong business acumen and are highly analytical by nature with the ability to present insights clearly. A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is required. CPA, CFA, or MBA will be considered an asset.
