Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with EverWind to recruit a Human Resources Manager to join their team and support operations at the Point Tupper Terminal in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia.

EverWind owns and operates the Point Tupper Terminal which has 7.5 million barrels of storage capacity and specializes in storage, blending and transshipment of petroleum and petrochemical products. EverWind is also embarking on a Clean Energy Project that will create Nova Scotia’s first green hydrogen production facility and unlock the potential of Nova Scotia’s green economy.
    
Role Description:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Terminals, the Human Resources Manager will play a key role in shaping and delivering EverWind’s people strategy, ensuring HR programs, policies, and practices are aligned with the organization’s mission, values, and long-term objectives. You will be responsible for building and evolving a comprehensive HR function that supports EverWind’s workforce in areas including recruitment and retention, employee and labour relations, talent and leadership development, succession planning, performance management, total rewards, and employee engagement. You will be responsible for both the hands-on day-to-day execution and delivery, while also acting as a strategic advisor to EverWind’s senior leadership team on short- and long-term HR related matters and objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Build and develop a comprehensive HR function with established practices and procedures in the areas of recruitment and retention, employee and labour relations, leadership development, succession planning, performance management, total rewards, and employee engagement;
  • Partner with leaders and managers across the business on recruitment and retention, ensuring adequate workforce planning to support the successful execution of current and future projects;
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the leadership team in Point Tupper, aligning the HR strategy with corporate objectives, and ensuring people practices support EverWind’s mission and business growth;
  • Develop and implement leadership development, learning, and succession programs for all levels of the organization;
  • Design and oversee the total rewards strategy, including compensation, benefits, incentive, and equity programs, benchmarking against market trends to ensure competitiveness;
  • Manage all labour relations activities, including grievances, bargaining/negotiations, compliance with Collective Agreements, and fostering positive union relationships;
  • Lead change management initiatives during periods of growth and transformation, ensuring clear internal communications;
  • Oversee HR systems, analytics, and reporting to drive data-informed decision-making.
Qualifications:

Your qualifications will include:
  • Post-secondary education with an emphasis in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a management-level role;
  • CPHR designation would be considered a strong asset;
  • Demonstrated success in unionized environments, including contract negotiation and labor strategy;
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment laws, HR best practices, and workforce compliance;
  • Experience designing and implementing compensation, benefits, and executive pay frameworks;
  • Proven ability to influence at the executive level, with strong business and financial acumen;
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience with HRIS systems, workforce analytics, and digital transformation of HR processes.
