Armco Capital Inc. (Armco) was founded in 1982 by members of the Armoyan family. Armco continues to grow; both in business diversification, development, and its team of dedicated professionals. Now, we are partnering with them in search of an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team in Halifax. 


Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing invoices, ensuring timely payments to vendors, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role will reconcile financial data, resolve payment discrepancies, and assist in month-end procedures.


Responsibilities will include:
 
  • Managing multiple accounts payable sub ledgers.
  • Processing and coding invoices and matching with purchase orders.
  • Managing approval process for invoices, cheque requests and online payments.
  • Ensuring timely payment of approved invoices.
  • Performing vendor account reconciliations. 
  • Responding to vendor enquiries regarding financial aspects of invoicing.
  • Maintaining up-to-date filing system.
  • Managing construction contract files.
  • Other related financial duties as required.

The ideal candidate will possess:
 
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline.
  • 2+ years’ experience in an Accounts Payable/Receivable or similar position.
  • Understanding of basic accounting is an asset.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (accounting software and MS Office).
  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with a team supporting internal clients.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize and you have mastered the art of managing multiple tasks and requests with ease.
