This role blends high-level financial planning with hands-on management of budgeting, reporting, procurement, and risk oversight. You’ll advise senior leadership and the Board, drive financial strategy, and ensure compliance with public sector standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead annual budgets, capital planning, and five-year forecasts
- Oversee financial reporting, audits, and procurement processes
- Manage debt, investments, and cash flow
- Develop financial policies and evaluate performance across FRSC mandates
- Support cost-saving initiatives and revenue generation strategies
- Liaise with external advisors and internal teams to ensure financial integrity
- Supervise payroll, pensions, insurance, and regulatory compliance
- Present financial insights to the Board and contribute to strategic decision-making
- CPA designation (CA, CGA, CMA)
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- 5+ years in senior financial roles, ideally in public sector
- Strong knowledge of Canadian public finance, legislation, and accounting systems
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
