Compensation & Incentives 

NL Health Services offers a competitive compensation package designed to attract and support pharmacists at all stages of their careers. 

This position is classified as CG-41, with an hourly rate of $48.90 to $55.24, plus any negotiated wage adjustments or applicable supplements. 

Eligible candidates may also qualify for recruitment and relocation incentives, including: 

  • A signing bonus of up to $10,000 

  • A Come Home Incentive of up to $50,000, supporting relocation to Newfoundland and Labrador 

  • Relocation support to help offset moving costs 

  • A student bursary of up to $10,000 

These incentives are subject to eligibility criteria and Government of Newfoundland and Labrador approval. 

The Opportunity: Clinical Pharmacist IE 

NL Health Services is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist IE to join the Pharmacy Department at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville. 

This role offers the opportunity to practice in a hospital setting where pharmacists are integral members of the interdisciplinary care team, contributing directly to patient safety and therapeutic outcomes. You will be involved in both clinical pharmacy services and medication distribution activities, supporting safe, effective, and evidence-based pharmacotherapy for patients with complex and multi-disease conditions. 

Working closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, you will apply your clinical expertise in a collaborative environment where professional judgment and team-based care are valued. 

As a teaching site, this position provides opportunities to precept Pharmacy students and contribute to ongoing pharmacotherapy education for healthcare professionals and learners through both informal mentorship and formal presentations. Participation in committees and relevant working groups allows you to contribute to quality improvement initiatives and help shape pharmacy practice locally. 

The role includes on-call responsibilities and opportunities to provide relief coverage in other practice areas as required, offering professional variety and the chance to broaden your experience. The position maintains accountability to the Professional Practice Consultant for Pharmacy, ensuring strong professional standards and support for clinical practice.

Qualifications 

  • Graduation from a recognized School of Pharmacy 

  • Current licensure and good standing, or eligibility for licensure, with the Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board.  

Assets: 

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree 

  • Completion of a hospital residency program 

  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience 

  • Experience providing specialized clinical pharmacy services such as pharmacokinetic/therapeutic drug monitoring and anticoagulation management

  • Ability to integrate and evaluate clinical data to solve problems effectively
