Role Description

Reporting to the General Superintendent, the Project Coordinator will support the day-to-day operations of construction projects. Working closely with field personnel, and the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will monitor project progress, reporting, and scheduling to ensure that key project deadlines are met. The Project Coordinator will play a critical role in the successful execution of several exciting projects, from concept to completion. This includes preparing tenders and coordinating activities to ensure efficient job site operations, arranging work and materials well enough in advance to avoid schedule delays, as well as following up on quotes and RFI’s. You will also be responsible for attending site meetings as needed.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting project estimates and preliminary budgets, supporting tender package development and requesting/receiving subcontractor tender proposals;
  • Assisting with documentation required for site instructions (S.I.), requests for information (RF), change orders and submittals;
  • Collaborating with the Superintendent on an ongoing basis to ensure that schedules are aligned;
  • Providing assistance to the site to ensure project health, safety and environmental standards meet legislative requirements and company policy;
  • Assisting in the completion of project close out, including a close-out report, final purchase orders, and any other outstanding charges;
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with client(s), consultant(s), sub-trades and suppliers;
  • Other duties as assigned/required.
Your Qualifications

As the ideal candidate, you are an energetic self-starter who is passionate about construction and enjoys the process of how projects come together. You are comfortable working in a demanding and fast-paced environment and have a proven ability to manage competing priorities to ensure that projects remain on time and on budget. Lastly, you are excited by the opportunity to work on some of Dartmouth’s most prestigious developments.

Qualifications include:
  • 3+ years’ of experience in a Project Coordinator role, or equivalent;
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (engineering, construction management) preferred;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment;
  • Effective analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, coupled with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both in a verbal and written capacity;
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans;
  • Familiarity with construction management software (i.e., Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MS Project, Outbuild etc.)
