Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered up with Brazeau Seller Law, a dynamic downtown Ottawa law firm to recruit a Human Resources Manager to join their team.
Role Description:
• The Human Resources Manager will be working closely with the Director of Operations and will be the go-to person for all employee-related matters for the firm, handling all duties with the utmost confidentiality
• Managing full recruitment cycle, including online portals, job descriptions, candidate communication, interviews, and offers
• Handling employee relations and addressing grievances
• Fostering a positive work environment through events and committees
• Orchestrating new staff onboarding, training, and policy compliance
• Overseeing annual CPD requirements for lawyers and clerks
• Managing offboarding processes, including exit interviews
• Assisting with student recruitment and related tasks
• Maintaining HR records, policies, and compliance
• Conducting staff engagement and performance reviews
• Aligning HR strategies with business goals
• Providing support to the Operations team
• Monitoring labour and employment law compliance
• Consulting with internal employment counsel and undertaking other required projects and tasks.
Your Requirements:
• A minimum of three (3) years proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive
• People oriented and results driven
• Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
• Knowledge of HR systems and databases
• Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
• Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
• Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
• In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR best practices
• Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or related field
• Experience in or knowledge of the legal industry an asset
