The Legal Administrative Advisor is an essential position with the company and will align with corporate and departmental needs while building positive working relationships with staff, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure the organization is effective and efficient. Demonstrated leadership abilities with capability to collaborate with others and positively influence outcomes and highly effective written and verbal communication skills are essential.
The Legal Administrative Advisor will be responsible for NLCU’s estates administration, small claims’ administration, and commercial credit communications. They will work in accordance with applicable legislation and NLCU’s policies and procedures to review and determine estate requirements, provide support to NLCU branches on estate related topics, and liaise with other estate representatives, as required.
The Legal Administrative Advisor will take the lead role in managing delinquent accounts, provide guidance on property foreclosures and oversee NLCU’s small claims process. In consultation with the Director, Credit, the Legal Administrative Advisor will play a role in commercial credit communications by preparing letters in response to commercial credit proposals and ensuring that commercial credit documentation follows applicable legislation.
To be successful in this role, you will possess strong leadership qualities, decision making and problem-solving skills and techniques, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate holds a Diploma/certificate/license through the Law Society of Upper Canada and 3 or more years’ experience in a paralegal role. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
