Now, during an exciting time of growth and transformation for the organization, we are searching for a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to join their team at their head office in Saint John, NB.

Reporting to the CFO, the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis is an exciting new opportunity that will manage CAA’s evolving financial process improvement through data analysis, modeling, and ERP implementation. As an expert, you will be responsible for assessing and developing our financial practices and policies, modeling new services, implementing and overseeing the new financial system, and introducing modern procurement tools and policies. You will partner with colleagues within our immediate Finance Team as well as across the organization and will be empowered to identify strengths, risks & opportunities, and establish and execute action plans.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial and sustainable metrics using a data informed approach
  • Assists technology team with the implementation and management of a new financial system
  • Prepare financial and cost/benefit analyses of current and anticipated developments, programs, and initiatives.
  • Develop and manage models, programs, and reporting tools to support the business
  • Design and develop financial information reports to provide current, and relevant information for senior managers.
  • Determine most effective methods for generating data, analyze the information utilizing knowledge of the organization’s programs and projects.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting, annual audit, and risk processes
  • Build and maintains working relationships with peers and other teams and provide general advice and guidance to managers regarding the effective use of financial resources and options to enhance financial and business performance.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • University degree in commerce, business administration, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • CPA designation; an MBA would be an asset
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in financial planning and analysis/reporting
  • Extensive knowledge of financial reporting/analysis models and frameworks, process & controls
  • Experience in purchasing, developing contracts, and executing a tendering process
  • Ability to conduct research, undertake complex financial analyses and facilitate improved financial and business decision making.
  • Experience in budgeting/forecasting and enterprise risk management
  • Experience with SQL and Power BI
  • Six Sigma certification at a minimum of a green belt as well as knowledge of AI and machine learning, is an asset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A self-starter with a drive to solve problems
  • Highly systems-oriented, process focused and extremely organized.
  • Comfortable with change management and supporting change efforts
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Management reporting proficiency – accurate, insightful, organized/concise
  • Collaborative team player with mindset to continually improve processes and results
