Role Description:
As a vital part of the team, you will be responsible for reviewing ongoing construction of projects to monitor compliance with contract documents, identifying deficiencies and suggesting resolutions, as well as ensuring documentation is up to date. You will also coordinate and manage consultants, contractor’s requests, quality and design site reviews, shop drawing reviews and processing change requests. In addition, you’ll ensure CA practices and guidelines are maintained within the organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and Managing the CA phase of assigned projects, ensuring the work is completed accurately;
  • Conducting site visits to review compliance with contract documents, observe and report on work in progress, and prepare site reports;
  • Attending project site meetings;
  • Coordinate the shop drawing review process;
  • Project close-out documentation (i.e. deficiency review, O&M Manuals and as-built drawings etc.);
  • Providing progress reports to the project team;
  • Ensuring that all project records are organized, up-to-date and reflect any changes to construction contract documents;
  • Responding to Contractor requests for information and administer change documents as required;
  • Coordinating and Communicating with consultants, contractors, clients, and authorities having jurisdiction.

Your Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate, you have the experience and confidence to make educated decisions on site and work well with consultants and contractors when issues arise. You have good knowledge of building envelope and a variety of building construction techniques but more importantly you are the type of person who enjoys collaborating with others on project challenges. In addition, your attention to detail and strong work ethic have allowed you to enjoy success while participating in numerous projects.

Qualifications include:

  • 5-10 years of experience in a Contract Administration role or similar role with a focus on the construction phase of projects;
  • An educational background in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management would be an asset;
  • Prior experience working on a variety of projects including but not limited to mixed-use residential, commercial and institutional;
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes/standards and experience working with construction documents;
  • Experience using Revit and AutoCAD is an asset;
  • Experience with MS Project or other project management software is an asset;
  • Demonstrated expertise in building envelope and assembly, working with a variety of mediums including wood, steel, and reinforced concrete;
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
