Partnered with Meridia, Pinchin is in search of a Senior Project Manager to join their team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Role Description

As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of hazardous materials and Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) projects from concept to completion in the most cost effective and timely manner. You will manage and lead projects from concept through completion, ensuring they are completed on time and on budget while growing and maintaining strong relationships with team members and clients. You will be involved in growing the hazardous materials and IEQ groups in Dartmouth and region. As a senior staff member, you will work to mentor junior staff and work with leadership to foster a dynamic and engaging work environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing proposals for hazardous materials and IEQ investigations and remediation/abatement work
  • Overseeing hazardous materials and IEQ consulting projects, including assessments, contract preparation, and remediation/abatement work both locally and on a national client level
  • Assuming financial responsibility for assigned projects
  • Conducting business development with existing clients
  • Training and mentoring project technologists

Your Qualifications

As a Project Manager you have extensive experience working in the hazardous materials industry. You are a strong team player that enjoys sharing your knowledge of industry scenarios to provide guidance to more junior team members, but as a lifelong learner, you’re also not afraid to reach out to your peers for support. You have a sense of urgency to get work done, and this, combined with your excellent work ethic, enables you to meet project deadlines. You enjoy developing and maintaining business relationships and partnering with staff across the Pinchin organization to ensure a client receives exceptional service.

Your qualifications include:

  • Post-secondary education in any of the following: construction technology, architectural technology, occupational health and safety/hygiene, indoor air quality
  • 5-10 years’ experience providing hazardous materials consulting and project management for a large national client
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience as a Project Technologist performing hazardous materials assessments, abatement inspection, and air monitoring, preparing asbestos management plans, proposals for consulting services, and contract documents
  • Excellent technical report writing skills - ability to write, review, and edit reports and other written communications
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • High attention to detail
  • Professional verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
