We've partnered with Aegis Brands, a multi-brand, publicly traded hospitality company located in Toronto. Their vision for the future is strong with a significant growth plan through acquisitions, over the next few years.

 

 As the Finance Manager for Aegis Brands you will be responsible for managing all financial routines including month end closing and reporting processes, in addition to any ad hoc reporting and financial modeling required. You will have an accounting background, the ability to interpret key financial information and be a hands-on team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.

 

In addition, you must have the ability to confidently liaise with auditors, create and interpret financial statements and design control frameworks. You will have a keen sense for change technology and demonstrate the ability to utilize IT to create efficiencies together with the ability to understand finance & accounting concepts and convey information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.

 

Role Description:

  • Lead the monthly closing process
  • Supervise accounting staff
  • Perform monthly analysis by providing commentary and insights  
  • Identify and drive new processes to more efficiently and/or effectively achieve financial goals
  • Implement new systems and integrate new teams
  • Assist with various ad hoc projects as needed
  • Maintain and work to enhance system processes that impact the finance department.
  • Other duties that align with the above requirements


Your Qualifications:

  • CPA, CA designated is a must
  • 3+ years of accounting experience post-designation, preferably in a public company
  • High degree of comfort with Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, model building, and financial functions)
  • Strong organizational skills required to meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills
  • Undergraduate degree in finance or accounting
  • Experience with public company financial statements, filings, and continuous disclosure requirements an asset
  • Experience and knowledge of the quick service restaurant and/or food and beverage industry an asset
  • Experience with SAGE Intacct considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to “roll up your sleeves” and work with the team in a hands-on capacity
  • Analytical strengths with practical understanding of business drivers.
