As the business continues to grow and evolve, Connors Bros. is looking to add a General Manager to their team located in Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick.


As the General Manager you will be given the opportunity to make a real impact on the organization by overseeing the strategic and operational leadership of manufacturing and developing a high-performance environment. Responsible for creating annual and long-term strategic plans, you will build the processes, culture and values required to deliver on those goals. You will also develop a continuous improvement environment and evaluate technologies that provide efficiencies in production and quality which in turn will ensure the business remains competitive for years to come. Ultimately responsible for performance management, you will establish goals for your team and create an environment that supports the coaching and mentoring of employees at all levels of the organization to assist them in reaching their potential. As the role develops, you will partner with the leadership team to manage government relationships and have oversight of fish resourcing.


As the ideal candidate, you have at least 15 years of progressive management experience in a food production environment. You exude a passion for excellence that has been demonstrated in your commitment to continuous improvement activities, your ability to challenge the status quo, and your thirst for knowledge and planning for ‘what’s next’ in your industry. You set a clear leadership example by ‘walking the talk’ and have demonstrated that you are able to move an organization forward by leading change management initiatives and using your strong communication skills to create buy-in at all levels of the organization. You enjoy a dynamic environment where you have the opportunity to wear many hats and are known as someone who takes great pride in developing the team around them. You are committed to making safety and quality a priority within an operation and you strive to ensure your staff believes in the importance of both.
