Legal Assistant, Litigation/Labour and Employment (14 Month Contract)

Our client, one of Canada’s fastest-growing law firms is currently seeking a Legal Assistant, Litigation/Labour and Employment for their Vancouver office. This is a full-time, temporary position with a 14-month term.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage calendars through careful planning, communication and coordination to maximize time management and ensure all deadlines are met;
  • Handle the onboarding of clients and conflict checks;
  • Drafting / revising / proofreading of legal documents and correspondence;
  • Preparing and coordinating for hearings and trials;
  • Scheduling travel and meetings;
  • Maintain bring forward system;
  • Communicate professionally with all internal and external clients;
  • Practice administration and management for lawyers;
  • Administrative tasks including, diarizing events, opening and closing files, expense requisitions, electronic and hard-copy filing, scanning, printing etc.;
  • Other business related duties, as assigned.


Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant;
  • Certificate or Diploma from a Community College or equivalent;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading skills;
  • Ability to use critical thinking and judgment skills;
  • Working knowledge of MS Suite and BCOnline;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Ability to work under pressure with competing deadlines;
  • Ability to take the initiative and work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment;
  • Flexibility to work with changing priorities.
