Our client, a growing engineering firm, is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Providing detailed design, construction administration and engineering analysis services, this firm has worked on many exciting multi-residential and commercial builds around the Halifax community.

 

Role Description

 

Working with an experienced design team you will lead the Electrical division of the firm and will have the opportunity to build a team as the organization grows. You will provide electrical design services for multi-residential construction projects, as well as commercial and industrial projects, and participate in hands on management of design projects and related construction administration.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing concept and detailed design expertise for various construction projects
  • Overseeing and assuming full responsibility to produce electrical construction drawings
  • Defining the electrical design project scope and working to develop designs that meet industry code and client expectations in a safe and cost-effective manner
  • Participating in multiple phases of firm operations including responding to proposals, preparing specifications, and bid documents, contract administration and construction reviews, budgeting, and scheduling control as it relates to electrical engineering
  • Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with clients
  • Providing insight and mentorship to the electrical engineering team while ensuring high technical standards

 

Your Qualifications

 

As an Electrical Engineer you are driven by the quality of your work and your ability to build and maintain relationships with co-workers and clients. Your consulting experience will allow you to take this next step in your career, and you have always wanted to be a part of the growth of a local firm.

 

Your qualifications include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • 5-10 years of experience in the consulting sector with at least 2 years of experience as a P.Eng
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with Engineers Nova Scotia would be an asset. Ability to obtain registration with Engineers Nova Scotia by transferring from another Canadian jurisdiction will be considered
  • Ability to confidently apply your experiences to new challenges
  • Ability to be highly organized and consistently meet agreed timelines
  • Ability to manage projects and a design team, including electrical draftsman and EITs
