Legal Assistant, Intellectual Property - 18 months contract

Our client, one of Canada’s largest and most successful law firms, has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant to join the Intellectual Property group in the Toronto office. This position is an 18-month contract.
Responsibilities associated with this position include managing correspondence, coordinating meetings and travel arrangements, as well as drafting audit responses and retainer letters. This position is also responsible for assisting with billings, conflicts searches, new matter openings and WIP reports.
The successful candidate will have a legal assistant diploma, along with a minimum of one to three years of experience as a legal assistant.
This position has a significant administrative component, and the successful candidate will have strong organizational and time management skills, as well as a heightened attention to detail and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
The candidate is also required to have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel), CMS and InterAction. The candidate will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively with other Firm members and colleagues. It is an expectation that the candidate will present in a professional manner and maintain a high level of confidentiality when interfacing with internal and external clients.
