Our client, a rapidly growing ocean-technology manufacturer, is currently looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join their team in Germany. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a progressive, publicly traded, global organization in the marine technology industry.
Reporting to the Vice-President of Finance at the company’s International Headquarters, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions of the business operations in Germany, as well as other European subsidiaries, ensuring proper controls and systems are in place to support business growth. The Controller will work closely with the global finance team to assist with business planning and budgeting to support strategic decision making. Responsible for maintaining all aspects of the company’s financial records and a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, the Controller will continuously assess and improve internal controls over financial reporting activity. Other responsibilities include overseeing month end close cycles, preparation of management reports, management of the audit and review process, preparation of income tax provisions and submission of returns, and preparation of grants, loan and other funding applications.
We are seeking an experienced finance professional, with 5+ years of financial reporting experience, combined with post-secondary education in a related field. A professional designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA, WP) is preferred, along with experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment within a manufacturing or industrial product-based company. Experience working within a publicly traded organization and knowledge of HGB and IFRS is desired. A self-starter who is driven to deliver quality results and enjoys a progressive, fast-paced environment is key for success in this role. Organized, detail-oriented and a strong communicator, you are natural leader who is looking for a place where you can continue to develop your career. You have a knack for technology and can easily adapt to a changing environment. You enjoy working as part of a global team in a continuous improvement environment. Must be fluent in English and German.
