We are excited to partner with Saint Mary's University in the search for an Alumni Officer, Event and Experiential Engagement.

 

Reporting to the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Alumni Officer, Event and Experiential Engagement is responsible for creating opportunities to engage alumni and prospects of the university through event planning and experiential program development. The Alumni Officer will work in consultation and collaboration with the Director and colleagues in Advancement and in faculties and departments across campus, and with Enrolment Services, Career Services,   Athletics and other partners to advance the engagement strategy for alumni through supporting the regional volunteer network, planning events, engaging new audiences, and connecting campus partners with community stakeholders. The position is required to travel and work evenings and weekends.

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

 

Undergraduate degree plus three (3) years of directly related experience preferably in a university setting
OR
Certificate in Event Management from an accredited institution and five (5) of directly related experience preferably in a university setting.

 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database maintenance.
• Website maintenance experience an asset.
• Initiative and independent thinking.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to function independently and as part of a team.
• Detail oriented.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Database maintenance.
• Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends, as required.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple, competing tasks and priorities.
• Cross cultural work experience.
