Our client, a locally owned and operated organization, provides integrated life-of-asset solutions leveraging its diverse organizational capabilities in civil, industrial and marine construction and multi-discipline technical specialties. As a leading supplier of fluid power components, services and systems in Atlantic Canada, they have a large and diverse customer base across the oil & gas, industrial, utility, mining, construction, forestry, aquaculture and marine markets. Success has led to the growth of their technical team and on their behalf, we are recruiting a Hydraulic Technician to join their office in St. John’s, NL.

The Hydraulic Technician will perform troubleshooting and diagnostic checks on hydraulic components and systems and will have experience in hydraulics and control systems. They will be responsible for completing repairs to hydraulic and control systems, installing and commissioning new systems and packages, and completing ISO documentation as required.

The ideal candidate will have technical experience in the following areas/activities:
• Independent diagnostics on mobile & heavy equipment including hydrostatic, load sense, pressure compensated and fixed displacement systems;
• Independent diagnostics on marine vessel systems including winch drives and cranes;
• Overhaul & repair of various hydraulic & pneumatic components;
• Start-up/commissioning of new systems.

In addition to the above-mentioned experience, our ideal candidate will have post-secondary education/certification as a Hydraulic Mechanic/Technician, Electronics Technician/Technologist, Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic/Technician or an acceptable combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will be a goal driven individual who supports safety and quality programs, has excellent communication skills, is committed to customer satisfaction, has strong organization skills and has the ability to multitask while executing work within deadlines. They will also have a strong work ethic, work well independently as well as part of a team and are proficient in the use of computers.
