Our client, Clearwater Seafoods, is one of North America's largest vertically integrated seafood companies and the largest holder of shellfish licenses and quotas in Canada. It is recognized globally for its superior quality, food safety, diversity of species and reliable worldwide delivery of premium wild, eco-certified seafood, including scallops, lobster, clams, cold-water shrimp, sea cucumber, langoustine, whelk and crab.

This commitment has allowed it to remain a leader in the global seafood market and in sustainable seafood excellence.

Now, on their behalf, we are looking for a Financial Analyst, Corporate Accounting to join their talented team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, Corporate Accounting, this position is responsible for analyzing routine information for accuracy, generating accounting entries and performing analysis that requires data interpretation, professional judgement, or business insight.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Review and post accruals and journal entries
  • Prepare working papers and reconciliations supporting the month-end close process
  • Support the business with analyzing and summarizing results, monitoring variances and identifying trends
  • Perform other related duties and project work as required

The ideal candidate will have:

  • University business degree in accounting or similar field
  • CPA designation or working towards the designation
  • 1-3+ years of relevant experience
  • SAP user knowledge is an asset
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Excellent analytical skills
