Aethera is currently seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our growing team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will assist with the design, construction, and test of our products to meet customer, reliability, regulatory, and performance requirements within budgeted cost and schedule.

As a Jr. Mechanical Engineering Technologist at Aethera, you will undertake a broad range of hands-on and technical activities including:

  • Mechanical design of power electronics, cooling systems and industrial radio frequency products using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Use your knowledge of materials, machining and tolerancing to assist third party suppliers to provide high quality fabricated parts while managing cost
  • Fabrication and assembly of prototypes as well as assisting with manufacturing
  • Communicating directly with and supporting customers with all aspects of the product lifecycle including requirements, installation and service

As an ideal candidate you have graduated or are graduating from a Mechanical Engineering Technology program or have equivalent knowledge, training and experience including a strong aptitude in mechanical theory, fabrication, mathematics and have strong hands-on skills.

You are familiar with relevant software tools including Microsoft office suite. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, are comfortable to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision. You are able to travel within North America and abroad, if necessary. The ideal candidate must also be able to meet the requirements needed for Controlled Goods registration, Industrial Security and other security requirements needed for the company business operations.
