On their behalf we are seeking a Building Supplies Manager.

This position requires a flexible and hands-on professional to lead and grow the business. The Building Supplies Manager will be responsible for overseeing department operations including management of the sales team and providing direction and guidance to reporting staff. The Building Supplies Manager will ensure exceptional customer service is delivered throughout the department, will rely on sound retail principles and promote efficient operating procedures.

We seek a candidate with previous leadership experience in a building center environment and/or strong retail management experience. This expertise will include strong knowledge of business processes, strategy and value measurement. The ability to engage and build rapport with a variety of customers from DIYer to professional contractors is a must. This role is a mix of providing action through example, oversight and motivation and the ability to stay close to and be involved in the details of the day to day operations when needed. The ideal candidate will have an excellent work ethic, a positive attitude and possess superb communication skills. Post-secondary education, relevant business courses, or gained equivalent knowledge learned though on-the-job training is required, combined with excellent knowledge of retail management systems and sales.
