On behalf of our client, a large packaged foods company, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Key Account Manager to join their team of dedicated professionals in Markham, Ontario.

 

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Key Account Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering an annual volume, share, revenue and spending plan for their major accounts. The Key Account Manager will work with the Director of Sales to develop and implement those key account plans. The successful candidate must understand key drivers of the key accounts and meet and present at the account level as required. Presenting, implementing and reviewing fact-based category management ideals, will be focused on but not limited to: pricing, layout, assortment, and margin maximization. The Key Account Manger will be responsible to prudently and efficiently, negotiate all trade deals with accounts, as well as monitor, evaluate effectiveness of the key account plans and take corrective action if needed. Managing trade and deal spend within budget will be key to support company goals and strategies within the assigned accounts.

 

As the ideal candidate, you possess a minimum of five years’ experience as a Key Account Manager, or sales or similar function within a major retailer. Demonstrated strategic business sense as well as experience working within a consumer-packaged goods organization directly will be strongly preferred. Fact-based analytical thinking as well as the ability to handle complexity and ambiguity will be essential. You are self-motivated, trustworthy and able to work independently with a strong bias towards action. With a strong results orientation, you possess excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities to meet various deadlines. With exceptional organization, communication and interpersonal skills, you possess strong business acumen and are highly analytical by nature. A bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required.
