Our client, a leader in managing offshore support vessels servicing major oil and gas companies on the east coast of Canada, are looking for an Accounts Payable Administrator to join their dedicated team of professionals in the St. John’s office.

 

Working closely with the Procurement Specialist and reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Administrator will receive, review, verify and prioritize vendor invoices, purchase orders and statements on daily basis. They will also review open purchase orders, assist with accruals and month end reconciliations, prepare weekly cheques and electronic funds, and prepare invoice batches for review. The Accounts Payable Administrator will also be responsible for responding to telephone, e-mail, and in-person inquiries from vendors and staff regarding the status of payments and invoices.

 

Our ideal candidate has 1-3 years experience working in an accounts payable role, with post secondary education in accounting or administrative support services. Through these experiences, they will have demonstrated the ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage numerical data and maintain accounting records. They will have excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as strong written and oral communication. Proficiency in MS Office is key for success in this role, as well as working knowledge of accounting software such as AccPac.
