We are looking for an Associate Director, Financial Operations, to join our client’s finance department in Halifax, NS. The role will oversee the financial close and reporting for their international entities along with leading their quarterly stakeholder reporting.

Key responsibilities, among others, will include:

  • Overseeing the full cycle accounting, financial close and reporting for business units. Other jurisdictions or business units may be assigned from time to time.
  • Completing month-end close activities, including posting journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and investigation into variances
  • Leading the related party management fees and inter-company reconciliation process
  • Responsible for preparing internal and external financial statements
  • Liaising with parent entity and stakeholder reporting
  • Responsible for monitoring regulatory financial indicators and preparing regulatory reports

Requirements:

  • CPA designation with a background in a public accounting firm or publicly traded company
  • Understanding of US GAAP and ability to prepare technical accounting memos
  • Strong level of proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, sumif, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, research, problem solving, and time management skills
  • High level of accuracy, detail, efficiency, and accountability
  • Ability to adapt quickly to fast-paced environment and deadlines
