Our client is a leader in their industry and millions of people have benefitted from their programs. They are looking for an experienced Accountant to join their team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who has experience in accounts receivable and has the experience and capacity to grow in other accounting functions.

  • Responsibilities will include:
  • Accurate revenue recognition and forecasting in accordance with company policy
  • Customer invoicing and liaising with customer’s accounts payable departments
  • Performing monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank, credit card and other balance sheet accounts
  • Preparation and posting of journal entries
  • Creating and analyzing reports, ensuring all reconciliations are up to date
  • Preparation of HST and QST returns including remittance of corporate tax installments

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum two (2) years’ accounting experience (preparation and posting of A/P, A/R and journal entries)
  • Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration
  • Experience working with ERP systems is considered an asset
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, specifically proven efficiency in Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Solid problem-solving experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy including strict adherence to policy and process
  • Self-motivated individual who works well both independently and in a team environment
  • Works well under pressure, with competing deadlines, understands commitments and prioritizes well
