On behalf of IPG, we are seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to join their team in Truro, Nova Scotia.

As the Health and Safety Specialist, you will provide expertise in all aspects of health, safety and regulatory coordination. You will offer input into policy decisions and support the monitoring and application of company policies and procedures by providing guidance and assistance through investigations and a performance management process. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in assisting IPG with taking the next steps in their safety journey. You will take a pro-active role in developing corrective actions through inspections within the organization and will ensure federal, provincial and local OHS legislation is observed. Your exceptional interpersonal skills will help you to roll programs out in a way that gains buy-in from staff at all levels of the organization. This knowledge will also help you to develop and maintain safe work practices and procedures.

As the ideal candidate, you have post-secondary education and proven experience with occupational health and safety and driving lasting cultural change. Additional certification such as CRSP would be considered an asset. You are a safety champion with strong interpersonal skills. This will allow you to work collaboratively with a variety of people including the leadership team, frontline employees, and external stakeholders. As a well-organized, detail-oriented, self-starter, you are passionate about working with staff to create a culture of safety.
