Our client, North Atlantic Refinery (NARL), is a major player in the local oil industry in Newfoundland and Labrador, with their 130,000 barrel-per-day refinery located in Come By Chance. With nearly 500 skilled employees and contractors, NARL produces some of the cleanest fuels in the world for their customers, at home and abroad. NARL is looking to add new expertise to its team based in Come By Chance, in the role of Manager Capital Projects. The successful candidate is expected to provide day to day administrative and technical guidance to a staff of engineers and technicians while ensuring a safe working environment. This management position will coordinate with other departments on optimizing the plant, as well as coordinate work with external organizations and agencies. They will be responsible for employee training and development, as well as organizing and completing projects on time and within budget while providing leadership and resources for the team. In addition, they will continue to manage and monitor the progress of all ongoing projects and resolve any technical issues to ensure successful completion.

We seek a proactive, organized, and forward-thinking management professional, with 10+ years of reliability and engineering management leadership experience within a large production facility. The incumbent is expected to contribute to a positive working environment with a continued commitment to safety. The Manager Capital Projects will possess strong leadership and time-management skills along with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. The successful candidate must be a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) within Newfoundland and Labrador or be eligible for membership in Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL).
